GIFA Academy Event – What’s driving UK property market movements in 2023?

Many Members provide services that involve properties in the UK whether they be residential or commercial.

We are pleased to welcome Savills to present to us on this important sector. Representing Savills will be Faisal Choudhry and Simon Preece. Both Steve and Faisal are based in the UK so we are very grateful that they have agreed to travel to Guernsey to present to us. You can find their bios below.

Faisal will examine the key drivers of the UK Residential market since the beginning of the pandemic and the challenges it faces against a difficult economic backdrop. It will also look at the prospects for the Residential Development and Rental markets going forward.

Simon’s presentation will be an examination of the key UK commercial property sectors, from an occupational and investment viewpoint, with a review of current investor sentiment and a look into the future drivers of demand. He will present Savills view of the likely performance during the next few years and which sectors will outperform.

Bios:

Faisal Choudhry – Faisal joined Savills in 2002 and is the head of Savills Residential Research in Scotland.

He has a built a significant media profile and is often invited to speak at seminars and conferences. House builders, developers and lenders regularly seek his advice due to his market knowledge and insight. Faisal enjoys visiting towns and cities and studying local neighbourhoods and residential developments. His field-based research gives him an advantage when advising on future sites.

Faisal also specialises in the supply and demand dynamics of prime residential property markets across Britain.

Simon Preece – Simon joined Savills in 2014 and is an Associate Director in the Commercial Research team at Savills who specialises in the office market throughout the UK. Simon provides market research and thought leadership on the sector alongside bespoke research consultancy to developers, investors and occupiers.
