UK Minister Lord Johnson of Lainstone CBE is confirmed as the keynote speaker at an event hosted jointly by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and Guernsey Finance.   ‘AI and Finance in Guernsey: The Power and the Implications’, will take place on 28th June and investigate the power and potential of artificial intelligence and the possibilities of digital innovation in the financial services industry. This one-day conference will host industry-leading keynote speakers and a panel session about AI’s impact on cybercrime, environmental reporting and regulation.

Cees Vermaas, CEO of The International Stock Exchange (TISE), explores how the Guernsey-headquartered Exchange’s 25th anniversary year is set to be a significant landmark in both its history and future. It is now two and a half years since I arrived in Guernsey to lead The International Stock Exchange (TISE) and I am extremely pleased both to be living and working on this enchanting island and with the progress we have made as an organisation in executing our growth strategy. Prior to joining TISE, I had spent the previous 20 years operating in financial markets infrastructure internationally.

Michael Moore, Director General of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, will present the opening keynote speech at this year’s Guernsey Funds Forum. With an impressive career in both politics and business, Michael will provide an insightful update on the current macroeconomic trends and the impact on private equity, venture capital and fundraising. The Forum’s theme, The Future of Funds, will continue through an afternoon of panel sessions where industry experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with emerging asset classes, the topic of fund distribution and ‘jurisdiction shopping’.

Guernsey has risen 12 places in the latest Global Financial Centres Index. Published by a City of London think-tank, Z/Yen, the Index provides evaluations of competitiveness and rankings for the world’s major financial centres. Guernsey is one of just two jurisdictions in Western Europe to rise 10 places or more, reflecting the financial centre’s reputation for stability, security and depth of expertise.
