New report highlights importance of fund domicile selection

Respected US-based independent research and consulting firm, Cerulli Associates, has today published a white paper titled “Fund Domicile Selection: Enabling Global Alternative Asset Growth”, in partnership with Guernsey Finance. This independent research has been commissioned to help private capital fund managers and their advisers understand key issues in deciding where to domicile their funds to attract a more international investor base. The report demonstrates that the global audience for private capital investing continues to grow strongly (global private asset investment grew 92% between the end of 2018 and the end of Q2 2022), so taking a considered approach to which fund jurisdiction to use is important.

Guernsey Green Finance renamed Sustainable Finance Guernsey

Guernsey Green Finance – the initiative through which Guernsey Finance promotes the island’s sustainable finance offerings – has been renamed Sustainable Finance Guernsey. The new name is intended to better reflect the broad work Guernsey does within the realm of sustainable finance. This decision comes after conversations and feedback from the Guernsey Green Finance strategy group which is now named the Sustainable Finance Guernsey Council.

Lending, Credit and Finance Law to provide credible platform for fintech businesses

Guernsey’s new Lending, Credit and Finance Law, which comes into effect this summer, will provide a credible platform on which fintech businesses can be launched from Guernsey. The Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) has published a feedback paper following a consultation.  A number of changes were made to the draft Rules and Guidance, designed to strike a balance between proportionate regulation and the protection of customers without unduly restricting the market and maintaining access to services from a variety of providers.
