Lending, Credit and Finance Law to provide credible platform for fintech businesses

Guernsey’s new Lending, Credit and Finance Law, which comes into effect this summer, will provide a credible platform on which fintech businesses can be launched from Guernsey. The Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) has published a feedback paper following a consultation.  A number of changes were made to the draft Rules and Guidance, designed to strike a balance between proportionate regulation and the protection of customers without unduly restricting the market and maintaining access to services from a variety of providers.

Guernsey chosen as the domicile for new fund administration business

A new fund administration business, Core Fund Services (Guernsey) Limited, has chosen Guernsey as its domicile. The establishment of this new provider for the investment funds industry adds yet another to Guernsey’s strong offering of administrators. “I’m excited to announce that Core Fund Services (Guernsey) Limited is now open for business,” said Core Fund Services (Guernsey) Limited CEO, Martin Scott.

Guernsey was represented at COP15 in Montreal in December 2022. Director General of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, William Mason, and Commission Staff Officer, Tiffany Moeller, share their thoughts on the conference. Despite the corresponding UN Conventions being opened for signatures at the same time, at the Earth Summit in 1992, climate change has since become a mainstream topic.
